Heaven-Sent Warrior Book Tour & Giveaway

Asleep inside a bronze statue, a naked Frenchman wakes a century later to save a half-Fae, museum curator from a demon bent on ruling our present-day world.

Heaven-Sent Warrior

Warriors in Bronze Book 1

by Nancy Lee Badger

Genre: Paranormal Romance

Henrí Chevalier’s last memory, before stumbling naked into a museum’s moonlit garden, was Auguste Rodin and his dusty Paris studio in 1886.

To escape his broken heart, Henrí volunteered to sleep inside a statue until needed. Expecting to die, he discovers he must learn to use the unexpected powers Heaven has given him.

Without them he will fail his mission against otherworldly creatures, such as demons and faeries.

Kenzie Mackintosh, a dedicated art museum’s curator, spies a naked man hiding among bronze statues. A quick glance ignites desire within her, but she is too tied-up in work to act on it.

Unaware of her fae heritage, their relationship heats up as he disrupts her job. While Henrí tries to process modern buildings, cars, and a broken elevator, a demon attacks and forces Henrí and Kenzie to enlist the aid of her powerful fae relatives.

When the demon possesses the body of her ex-lover and threatens to kill him, then use her to take over the world, Henrí and Kenzie must learn to trust each other, even if Kenzie’s death might be the only answer to the world’s salvation.

Excerpt:

Drowning

“No. Kenzie is not there.” Henrí stood on the dune’s apex. The ocean, so close and black, seethed as if alive. He sensed Kenzie. He smelled her subtle fragrance on the wind.

There is still hope.

Henrí shaded his eyes and searched up and down the beach. Movement at the water’s edge caught his attention.

Even from a great distance, her tattered clothing barely covered white limbs striped with blood. With her head held high, Kenzie strolled like a soldier on a leisurely march, headed straight for the surf.

The black, churning, raging sea. Why would she enter the ocean? The unnatural sea could kill her, but Kenzie’s steps never foundered. When her feet sank in damp sand then disappeared in a swirl of foam, his blood surged, and his concern grew.

“Kenzie? Stop!” Henrí ran down the side of the dune, struggling to catch up to her before she waded in any farther.

“What is it? What do you see?” Gwen’s voice rose, panicked.

Henrí ignored her. He could not comprehend the scene before him. His mission, now, was to find Kenzie and keep her away from the dark depths of the ocean.

With the fae at his heels, he searched beyond the foamy wash of the breakers. Something out of place caught his attention and understanding slammed him in his gut.

His body screamed to run faster. He had sensed a demon, but the sea swept away both his stench and Kenzie’s sweet scent. The bobbing form drifted farther and farther away. Waves broke at his knees, but the swirling head of silvery blond hair disappeared into the dark recesses, below the surface.

“No!”

Kenzie was gone.

Everything You’ve Ever Wanted Blurb Blitz & Giveaway

GENRE:  Women’s Fiction

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
BLURB:
Jenna Mitchell has spent her adult life under the control of her husband, her dreams of owning her own bakery pushed aside. But at twenty-eight, she’s finally ready to reclaim her life and pursue her passion. Well… almost.
With the unwavering support of the Sensational Six—her close-knit group of friends—Jenna can finally envision a day where she is in charge of her own destiny, a big step forward for her. But can she quiet the echoes that keep finding their way back to her? Will the doubts they’ve created make it impossible for her to see—and trust—the path forward before her chance at a better life slips through her flour-dusted fingers?
Fans of Rachel Hanna will enjoy this warm and uplifting story about self-discovery, finding the courage to start anew, and the unbreakable bonds of chosen family.
Excerpt One:
I was sifting powdered sugar over a just-cooled apple strudel when my husband called from county jail. Leaning over the tiny kitchen table in my tiny new apartment above the café where I worked, I was imagining myself with my apron-covered hip propped against a gleaming stainless steel table, putting the finishing touches on a last-minute order that had come in through my bakery’s website. Back and forth with the sifter… downy, white flakes danced around each other as they floated and settled into their resting places.
B-r-r-r-r-r-t
The rumble of the phone against the white laminate broke me from my time-worn daydream. I reached up to adjust the white baker’s cap that existed only in my mind, pressed pause on my dream, and shook my head to clear it. When I read the caller ID, my stomach folded in on itself.
‘Collect call’
Craig.
I took a deep breath that settled in my chest and refused to return. I set the sifter down on a nearby dish and picked up my phone. For a moment, just a moment, I held it in my hand and considered letting him go to voicemail. But a lifetime of experience told me that ignoring a man who will not be ignored would only delay the inevitable.
“Hello?” I said, forcing the air from my lungs.
My husband’s out-of-touch politician’s voice poured through the phone. “Jenna, sweetheart. Are you busy?” Without waiting for me to answer, he continued. “I need you to do me a favor, baby. Can you please come down here and bail me out? I can’t sit here for one more day.”
I shifted the phone to my other ear and wrapped my free arm around my waist as I paced the twenty steps it took to reach the other end of my apartment and back. He wasn’t going to like my reply. “Craig, I just don’t think I can do that. I don’t have the money for it right now. I’m sorry.”
This was apparently not the answer he was expecting, because, as expected, his demeanor slipped from the fake, sticky sweetness of corn syrup to hot, burning rage faster than a falling soufflé. “You’re sorry? You’re sorry? Be sorry that you haven’t already come down here to get me. I’m your husband, Jenna. Remember the vows you took? Love, honor, and obey?”
Recognizing the opening line to the endless refrain of our marriage, I pulled a chair away from my kitchen table and willed my shaky legs to deposit me safely into it.
“Yes, I do remember, Craig. But I still can’t afford to come and bail you out right now. I have expenses I need to think about.”
The sound of what I could only assume was the phone bashing against a hard surface assaulted my eardrum. “You have expenses because you decided to leave our home and go live above that — that woman’s café.”
“That woman is my boss, and my friend,” I reminded him, “and she’s been nice enough to let me stay here.”
“You don’t need to stay there,” Craig argued back. “What you need to do is come and get me so we can go home together where we belong.”
The Last Door Ajar Book Blast & Giveaway
GENRE:  Historical Fiction
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

BLURB:

It is 1945. The infamous Max Smartz, superspy; Eva Braun, wife of Adolf Hitler; Joseph Goebbels, propaganda minister; and Otto Klugg, intelligence officer, do not die at the end of World War II, but trick the guards in the Fuhrerbunker tunnels, allowing them to make their escape.

Their escape plan is to reach war-neutral Southern Ireland, where Maxwell Smartz has an established base and is familiar with rural south Kerry and its people. They evade capture and eventually reach France. Here, they meet with a good friend and colleague, an undercover agent called Maurice Le Blanc, who asks them to assist him in retrieving some stolen gold bars.

After finding the fortune, the friends attempt to retrieve it in an old Dutch van but are continually thwarted and risk losing everything. To complicate matters, they learn that Max’s brother, Victor, has been incarcerated in the notorious Spandau prison and is being tried for Nazi war crimes. They hatch a plot to save him, but is it worth the danger of going back to Berlin and being caught?

Excerpt:

Joseph Goebbels was a German Nazi politician who joined the Nazi party in 1933. He rose to the ranks of Propaganda Minister and Minister of Culture.

He was not very tall and had a clubbed foot, which never stopped him thinking big and walking tall. Culture was fine by Goebbels as long as it was German culture, pure Aryan.

His henchmen, the Nazis, would gladly kick the shit out of anyone with the slightest notion of foreign culture other than the ‘Only true German culture’. He was responsible for all publicity, films, art, books and newsreels that only showed the best of all that was German.

Magda, his wife, was four years younger than him and was an avid supporter of Nazism, and a good friend of both Hitler and his wife, Eva. Eva was quoted as saying, ‘She, Magda, had no compunction about killing her six children, she feared for their safety if they continued to live’.

Joseph Goebbels was a brilliant orator; his speeches were full of passion and fire for the Germany he so loved. Hitler loved his friend, Joseph, and his great enthusiasm for rousing the people into action.

Now things had changed dramatically — they were losing the war, everything that could go wrong, went wrong The Yanks, English and Russians were all racing towards Berlin looking for scalps, and Joseph, Magda, Hitler and Eva made an unwritten pact not to allow that to happen.

They would deny the intruders the pleasure of rolling heads, they were intent on spoiling the party for the allied army.

About The Author:

My humble beginnings in a terrace house with an outdoor toilet and indoor rats. The drinking water was got from a public pump in the street. We were all sailing in the Titanic,Third

Class, but we were not aware of anything better. We had so much fun, swimming in the river. As kids we had wonderful imaginations.The only luxuries we ever saw were in the Cinema, usually

 American films, people smoking and drinking alcohol.

Everyone in the town of County Cork, Ireland seemed to be in the same boat; we made the best of it until the swinging sixties came along and changed everything. In spite of our poverty, I managed to get a College education. But opportunities were as scarce as rich Uncles. The Christian Brothers were brutal, and handy with the cane, in National School. I was lucky like many fellows my own age to get an apprenticeship as a diesel mechanic. Soon developed a taste for Alcohol, and got into trouble pretty soon, was lucky again to find A.A. and get my act together in 1978.

My hero died in 1977, Elvis Presley, the music stopped, the sixties was over, the Beatles were broken up, CCR, too. So getting sober was the best thing to do, under the miserable

 circumstances. I got a job as a Pipe Welder with ASME 1X certificate and began working around Europe, finally settling in warm Spain, Barcelona and met a Catalunya woman. Started writing for the first time, mostly comedies, Peter Sellers style, another hero of mine.

 This is my second published book, I also self published earlier works Like ,’Gorilla Days in Ireland’ by Michael Barrett, on Amazon. The Frankie Stein Enigma, and others, I paint oil and acrylic pictures, write mountains of poetry, sing and play the guitar.

‘ I do just about everything, that doesn’t make any money for me.’ But love doing what I do, writing poetry is mind stimulating, energising .

My favourite actors are William Holden, Warren Oates, Gregory Peck, and favourite detective the great Peter Falk in Columbo, a genius and Clouseau, Peter Sellers, and Peter Ustinov.

Interview With Author Naomi Laeuchli

By way of introduction, here is Naomi Laeuchli’s bio:

Born in Taipei, Taiwan, Naomi Laeuchli has lived overseas in nine different countries on three different continents where her family was posted with the American Foreign Service.

In November 2012 she moved from the Democratic Republic of the Congo back to the states and currently lives in Arizona with five horses. She works as a freelance writer and part time at the local library. She has written several interactive stories for Choice of Games, Tales, and Dorian.

Hello, Naomi , welcome to Angel Kiss Publications. Thank you for agreeing to do this interview.

Thank you so much for having me.

Is writing your full-time profession?

It’s not but besides my fiction writing I do get to do some freelance writing as well. My other part-time job is working at the small local library in my town.

How long have you been writing?

Since around six? I was homeschooled, and writing was a part of our school. Every day I had to write for 30 minutes. I could write whatever I wanted.

For about one year I wrote nothing but Neopet fanfiction. For another year I wrote a fantasy book in which, whenever I didn’t know what to do next, I’d just introduce another character. There. Were. So. Many. Characters.

My mother would read what I wrote and help with spelling and a little bit of grammar. According to her, there’d be times when the spelling was so bad that it would be impossible to tell what I’d meant to say, and I would have forgotten by then, and when the sentences were truly indecipherable, I’d cry.

Have you won any literary awards?

It’s not a literary award, but it was a writing contest! I write interactive fiction over on the Dorian app.  In 2022, they partnered with Lionsgate Entertainment for a writing competition, where you had to write a three-episode interactive story set in the Blair Witch universe and my story won. It got mentioned on the Forbes website which was neat.

WOW! Congratulations!

How many published books have you written?

I have two self-published books available: The Schoolmaster’s Daughter and a collection of Christmas short stories. I also have a spy/action interactive novel published through Choice of Games, as well as the vampire horror Blood in the Water on Tales and several interactive games on the Dorian app including Be My Sire, My Vampire’s Kiss, and Dating the Dragon.

Which genres do you write?

I love writing in all the genres. Mystery, fantasy, romance, thriller, action… It really all comes down to what story I’m currently interested in.

What are you working on now?

I’m currently writing a mystery thriller, but I’ve also got another regency romance in my head that I’d like to write, as well as a hero for a fantasy novel that I’m trying to find the right plot to fit to.

What is your favorite book review from a reader?

“Ok they can get married and have babies now. No need for the next ten chapters.”

Can you share a random interesting fact about yourself?

Last year I was in the top 1% of Taylor Swift listeners on Spotify. (It helps to have to drive 90 minutes to get anywhere. Lots of time for Tay Tay!)

What are your favorite books?

A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens, Thud by Terry Pratchett, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban by J. K. Rowling, and Venetia by Georgette Heyer.

(Is it fair to name four? That’s the closest I’ve ever come to pairing it down.)

Four is a nice round number!

Who has influenced your writing the most?

My mother, without a doubt and how much she has always supported my writing and, for this book specifically, Georgette Heyer.

When you’re not writing, where can we find you?

On my horse, underground in a cave, or in my armchair with a cup of coffee and a (hopefully good!) book.

A movie producer wants to turn your book into a movie, and you get to make a cameo. What would you do in the movie?

Every regency story requires there to be a dance scene at a ball. And those dances always look like so much fun. I would love to be one of the background dancers, while our hero and heroine have their required dance moment.

An elf named 12-25 approaches you. He’s sneezing, wheezing, coughing and there’s a strange tattoo of a snoring dog on his cheek. What do you do?

Ask him what breed the dog is.

Where can we find your books?

Amazon and (very soon?) Audible. At the time of answering these questions, The Schoolmaster’s Daughter is in the process of being turned into an audiobook.

Thank you, Naomi, for spending time with us and sharing your story. We wish you continued success and lots of luck!

GENRE:  Women’s Fiction

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
BLURB:
When Jacqueline follows her trusty Labrador Bailey down a hidden path to the beach, she’s unaware that her vacation plans on a small island off the New England coast has already taken her life in a new direction.
Running into an unassuming local beach comber stirs new thoughts, desires, and a self-determination she never knew she possessed. Jacqueline will need to trust her instincts and make the most of what fate has in store if she wants the future that, until now, she has only dared to dream of.
Excerpt:
The ferry was taking its sweet time making its way to Block Island.
Time is the ultimate dictator. Where did I hear that? I couldn’t have just come up with that one on my own.
Jacqueline French grabbed one of the last outside seats on the Block Island Ferry. It had only left Point Judith, RI, ten minutes ago, but for her, it seemed like ten hours ago. This would be her fourth September visiting this tiny tear drop-shaped island nestled between the south coast of Rhode Island and Montauk Point, located at the eastern tip of the south fork of Long Island, New York.
She always preferred visiting Block Island this time of year, after many of the Labor Day vacation stragglers dispersed and the kids were back at school. Although there were still a fair number of visitors, the din of racing mopeds was confined mostly to the weekends. Thanks to Michael, who she met on her first trip to Block Island, she came to know virtually every back road and trail on this seven-mile-long by three-mile-wide island. Beyond its beauty, Jacqueline’s deeper connection with the island was its shape. She shed many tears lately over the fate of her marriage and the direction her life had taken.
She always brought Bailey, her chocolate Labrador retriever, on her September sojourns to Block Island. Bailey enjoyed seeing the seals every year, and they seemed curious about her. But Bailey had become too arthritic to make the trip this year.
BLURB:
Deep in debt and desperate for a solution, Julius Claydon knows that marrying a wealthy woman is his only hope. When he meets the beautiful and rich Clara Haughton in Bath, he believes she could be his salvation, but there’s one obstacle in his path: Lydia Cray, Clara’s sharp-witted and penniless companion.
When Lydia quickly sees through his fortune-hunting motives, Julius proposes an alliance. He will help secure her future if she helps him secure Clara’s heart.
But Lydia is not all she appears to be, and she has a plan of her own: to teach him a lesson he won’t soon forget. But her scheming soon leads to unforeseen consequences for them both.
Can love spring from deception?
Excerpt:
“You seem to have taken a dislike to me,” he remarked.
“I have.” It came back promptly.
“Is my dancing really that bad?”
“No. You seem quite a capable dancer,” she said as if forced to be fair against her inclination.
“Then I’m afraid I don’t know what I’ve done to offend.”
“I’m sure you don’t.”
They crossed the room once more and came back together. Her hand was stiff in his own, and there was something unyielding in the way she moved through the steps. “Are you going to explain it to me?”
She shrugged. “I know you for what you are.”
“And what exactly is that?”
“A fortune hunter.”
It was stated so flatly, so calmly, and so completely correctly, that he couldn’t help himself: he threw back his head and laughed. She looked surprised. Perhaps he should have tried to disassemble, but there was a sharpness and confidence in her tone that made it impossible. However she knew, she did indeed know, and her forthrightness amused him.
“I’m sorry, Miss Cray. How did you guess?” He did not bother to hide from his voice that he was impressed.
“Well, I at least give you credit for not trying to hide it now,” she said a little dryly.
“How could I? When you have shot the target so exactly in the bull’s-eye. Credit where credit is due.” He gave a little mock bow.
“You seem an unusual specimen of your species.”
“There are always a few outliers. Have you met so many of us?”
“You must realize I’m quite used to dealing with your kind.”
“Are you? How very humbling you are. And here I thought myself clever.”
